Professor Mark Goldie

This is the story of two projects in the mid-20th century to create a world-leading technological college – which, unexpectedly, led to the founding of a new college at Cambridge.

It is also the story of how those projects navigated the aspirations and anxieties of post-War Britain, grappling with the Cold War, the end of empire, and a faltering economy.

Professor Mark Goldie is an historian and long-time Fellow of Churchill. He is (very slowly) writing a history of the origins of the College.

This talk will be broadcast live as a Zoom webinar, so your microphone and camera will be turned off throughout. You may submit questions during the event for the Q&A that follows, chaired by Development Director Fran Malarée, using the Zoom Q&A function.
