All current and former rowers and coxes are invited to a special dinner to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Churchill College Boat Club.
We are delighted to invite our alumni who have represented Churchill College in rowing to a special celebration of Churchill College Boat Club’s 60th anniversary. June 2022 marks sixty years since Canon Duckworth assembled no less than five boats to enter the May Bumps 1962, even though the College had only 100 undergraduates at that time.
As one alumnus remarked, ‘The Boat Club became a potent symbol of College life, even before we had the buildings that made up a College.’
The dinner will include pre-dinner drinks and served wine, and will be held in Hall. Due to the May Ball taking place on the same evening, pre- and post-dinner drinks will be served in the Fellows’ Rooms and are included in the booking price. Dress code is black tie/Boat Club blazer.
We also hope to have a marquee for Bumps viewing on Ditton Meadows, from 2pm on Saturday 18 June, arrangements for this are being finalised.
We look forward to welcoming alumni rowers and coxes back to College.
