Programme

Friday 22 September

From 2pm: Rooms available for check-in at the Porters’ Lodge and name badges available for collection from the registration desk on the main concourse.

Please enjoy your afternoon in College and explore our new one-mile perimeter walk around the site (created during the lockdown), or visit the Founder and Foundation exhibition in the Wolfson Foyer.

6.15pm: Pre-Dinner recital in the Recital Room, no charge. Performers to be announced.

7.15pm: those dining at High Table in Hall gather in the SCR, ready for dinner at 7.30. Please note you must book for this High Table using the Association Weekend booking form at the bottom of the page and NOT the standard High Table booking form. We cannot accommodate diners who have not booked in ahead of the day. Max. 2 bookings per person at £10 wine charge each where dining rights are used.

9.15pm: Wine Tasting, places strictly limited to 60. Please note you must book for this event using the Association Weekend booking form at the bottom of the page. Max. 2 bookings per person at £15 each. In a change to the recent years, this event will not include a meal, but will include a selection of cheeses.

 

Saturday 23 September

7.30am–9.30am: Breakfast in Hall

11am: Golf at the Meridian Golf Club: coffee, bacon butty and one round is £35. Please email the Alumni Office if interested in joining.

12.15–1.45pm: Lunch can be purchased in the Dining Hall.

this year’s Association Weekend programme, including our annual Association Dinner.

2pm: ‘The Future of Engineering at Churchill’ in the Wolfson Theatre. Alumni speakers will give short talks about emerging technologies and geo-political movements as well as global trends influencing their sector, the implications for its future development, and considering what that might mean for the UK and Churchill. This will be followed by an informal discussion between the panel and audience members.

4pm: ‘Celebrating a half century of preservation and access: The Archives Centre at 50’ in the Wolfson Theatre. Director of the Archives Centre, Allen Packwood gives us an insight into the collections as we celebrate this special anniversary.

6–6.30pm: Churchill College Association AGM in the Bevin Room. All welcome.

6.45pm: Drinks reception on the Jock Colville Lawn (or main concourse if wet).

7.30pm: Annual Association Dinner in Hall with Guest Speaker, Dr Howard Markel, author of The Secret of Life: Rosalind Franklin, James Watson, Francis Crick, and the Discovery of DNA’s Double Helix. Standard tickets cost £55 each, or £45 for those graduating in or after 2014, or £29 for current students.

12:30am: Buttery closes

 

Sunday 24 September

7.30am–9.30am: Breakfast in Hall

10am: Room check-out time (left-luggage room will be available at owner’s risk).

10–11am: Ecumenical Chapel service led by The Rev Canon Dr Sarah Lawrence (G05). All welcome.

11.30am: All who would wish to celebrate and remember Canon Duckworth, are invited to light refreshments in the Wolfson Foyer.
